I'm planning to hunt one down in a few months to replace my Stratus. They are all FWD, auto, and 2.4L I4 (201hp, 170 lb/ft). I love them and finally saw one in the wild today. The maroon/red wine color is great in person but I would prefer the blue. I'm a student so I just want reliability, good mpg, and room. Therefore wagon. I'm also 6'5" tall so I really need a ton of room.

You're 6'5"? The TSX is a small car. I'm 5'5" and I felt cramped driving my cousin's TSX sedan.

If I had to go with a FWD Wagon, it would probably be my choice.

I'm 6'9" or 10", and find the headroom to be nonexistent.

its a bummer its auto only, but I sure like the look and I hear the drive is pretty good, not great but above average.

They are quite rare! I've only seen one. Then again, I don't see that many Acuras to begin with. At least I think so.

If it wasn't Auto only, I'd probably would have had one at some point in my life. That being said, the TSX has always been about handling. And that goes the same for the Wagon.

It is a beautiful thing only sold from 2010 to 2014 in the US. Basically a Honda Accord Tourer from Europe with a slightly pointy face and gorgeous body.

Very rare and I finally saw one today after knowing of them for about a year. I saw a maroon one like the top picture and damn does it look sexy.

A4? Audi makes a damn fine vehicle but I don't like them as much as the TSX. I've looked at Audi wagons but they are ridiculously hard to find not shitty used around me and I honestly prefer the Acura/Honda.

I haven't been able to drive a sedan or wagon as of yet. I really want to fit, if I don't my backup is most likely a Honda Crosstour. I've driven one and fit very comfortably, it handled pretty well, great engine, and I actually like the looks of it. I'm a pretty big fan of the current US Accord and Crosstour.

Definitely a contender, I love what Cadillac is doing with their vehicles and keep hoping the 3rd generation CTS has a wagon variant. The 3.6L V6 is supposed to be fantastic, and the AWD seems fairly good from my friend who used to be a GM mechanic. I don't know how well I'd fit in a CTS is the biggest problem.

FWIW, I've had a couple of TSX loaner cars and they were nice, if a bit generic. And the TSX wagon was the best looking car on the Acura lot, IMO. (I realize that's not saying much, but still!)

I'm 6'4" and can attest that the TSX Wagon is tight. It wasn't awful for me, though. With the driver's seat in a comfortable position, my knees hugged the seat back when I got into the back. I don't recall the headroom being terrible. I have a rather vertical seating position while driving, as well. Rear legroom would be non-existent if you have a more relaxed driving position.

Personally, I love the looks and strongly considered one last fall after trading in my TL. My ex had the sedan which wasn't bad. The wagon on the other hand felt completely gutless. Too much car with not enough motor. It just wants to rev into the upper stratosphere before doing anything. This car seriously needs the 6.
Audi has a nice wagon, but I find the lack of 3 pedals on new ones disturbing. I ended up with a TDI JSW and don't have any complaints. It's slower than I'd like but I think there is a chip in its future. I don't feel like I'm murdering it by revving to 7000 rpm trying to leave a stoplight and the fuel economy is nice, especially on longer trips to go see the folks or hit the lake. I've been surprised both by how much how I can fit and how little I can fit. It's a lot narrower than the TL was.

It's top of the list right now for sure, once I'm able to sit in one that will tell me if I can pull the trigger on it. These do look great, I would change the beak if I could but it's not as pointy in person.

I'm about 5'10" and it fit me fine. The seats fit me nicely but some of my bigger friends don't like them. I developed a habit of using my right arm to hold me on the seats in my TL if I was driving a bit more spirited. Go test drive one - it won't hurt anything. :)
I really liked the torque I got from driving the TDI even though the top end wasn't there. The TSX wagon is all top with very little bottom end. In a bigger, heavier car (which any wagon is) I was not satisfied with the engine characteristics. In my first minute of driving I was looking all over to make sure I hadn't stuck it into a manual mode because of how high the shift points were in the rev range.
The paddle shifter is not bad for a manu-matic; I actually think it's one of the better ones I've tried with a pretty quick response. That part was levels above my old '04 TL. The interior quality of the Acuras has been slipping a bit in the past few years in my opinion. More plastic finishes slipping into what had been faux wood. Less soft-touch. I liked that VW was increasing it's use of soft-touch surfaces.

I also checked out an Audi Q5 which was really winning all the battles against the Acura, but opted for the 3 pedal wagon because I couldn't bear another automatic daily driver. That is all personal choice, of course, but if you like the TSX wagon, don't discount the A4 wagon (now the Allroad) or the Q5. Used, with the 3.2L 6 cylinder, it has plenty of grunt, good looks, a rocking pano, and the same interior space. Fuel economy is down, but if yuo are that worried about fuel, you should start looking TDI to keep the torque up instead of smaller gas engine.

I dont know...
If it were mine, I would black out the middle of the grill, but leave the outer ring chromed, and the Acura emblem chromed. I'd black out the rest of it though. I think it looks really good.
Not as good as a Magnum, but really good.

You're completely correct, that would look great. Very little looks as good as a Magnum, but this comes close. I've been looking around since you last told me about your experience with your Magnum, starting this summer my commute is getting about 10 miles longer so I need something with a bit better fuel economy. So I've been looking more at VW and Audi TDIs as well as the TSX and the CTS somewhat.

Jetta TDI Sportwagon. Available in Manual. Toffee Brown Metallic. Has roof racks.
Not even that expensive. Pick up a lightly used one in any color you want. I see them mostly in white, and I'll admit, they look pretty good.

I drove one today. 2012 w/14k miles on it. If all you want is MPG, reliability, and space, with a little comfort, it's a perfectly fine car. There's nothing particularly wrong with it, but there's nothing noteworthy about it either. The interior is meh, and while the car loves to rev and downshifts readily, the fact remains that it is slow. I would recommend an Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, Subaru Outback, Volvo V70/V50, or Volkswagen Jetta TDI wagon.
Basically, if you have your heart set on a TSX wagon, you won't be disappointed, but you'd be better off with just about anything else in the category.
wunderwagen wants a longer roof

09/27/2014 at 22:25 | 1 |
Thanks for the info! I'll definitely take that into consideration.
I'm seriously considering a CTS wagon now as well by the way. The 3.6 V6 is slightly more efficient than my Stratus' 2.7 V6 and that's something I could live with plus it is supposed to be a fantastic engine. I'm looking into the A4, V50, and Jetta TDI a bit more. I liked the 2011 Outback I drove but it didn't have enough power for my comfort and I've yet to drive a H6 or turbo 4 so I can't pass final judgement. I'm leaning more towards low and luxurious such as the Caddy and Audi just because I'd rather have that power and luxury for long cruising and road trips.
Haha, I wish I could finance a $50k new car. I'd have the V60 R-Design in Rebel Blue.

The VW Passat (the "B5" I think) is one of the only two cars I've sat in in which putting the driver's seat all the way back left me unable to touch the pedals. Very impressive. Germans like to accommodate big drivers, maybe Helmut Kohl's influence.
The things range in price from a couple grand to over $10k for 2009 vehicles, etc.
You've got 4motions, TDIs, 2.0 and 1.8 turbos, 3.6 VR6es, leather, cloth, automatic, and, in a few cases, stick.
(Yes, B6s and a B4 shown in post, as well as B5 and "B5.5")

Isn't it? The only thing that could make it better is being able to get the Polestar version.
I need bigger with my stature, I've only ever been comfortable in a car when I've drive my grandmother's GMC Terrain Denali (her current ride, which I love) and Cadillac DeVille (replaced by the Terrain). My knees hit the steering wheel of my mother's van (07 Dodge Caravan) even with the seat all the way back. Being this tall sucks fairly often when it concerns vehicles.
